You know you're missing someone when all you can think about is them, what they're doing, where they're at, and who they're with. You think about all the good times you had with them and the memories with them play over and over in your head like a broken record.

Memories that showed they once cared about you and loved you, memories that make you smile, laugh, cry, or even anger that makes you want to kick a pebble on the side of the street.

Memories that remind you to take a breath and keep breathing no matter how hard it gets. Each memory is so perfect in its own way even if it was terrible at the time or seemed meaningless.

They all mean so much to you now, more than a priceless jewel or diamond. You want more memories like that and you tell yourself that they're coming back for you and still love you but deep inside you know that may not happen. You dont want to accept the nasty reality that they may've already forgotten about you and moved on.

They may be so happy while you still sit and cry at night over losing something so precious. You dont even realize how big of a part they play in your life until they're gone. Then it's like a piece of you has gone missing and you need that piece to feel alive again.

You feel like you have an vacant spot in your heart, you feel like a empty carcass, something that's been dug out and left for dead. Youre someone that's alive but not really living or loving. Youre just going through the motions of daily life not caring anymore. The hunger for the person just grows stronger and you want them more. You need them back in your life.

You wish you could skip to the future for a spoiler to know whether theyre coming back. Your only wish is for them to be back in your life. Somehow when you're missing them your love for them also grows even stronger than before. You love them even more now that they're gone. You want and need only them. That my friend is how you know you're missing someone.
