...so yea they suck because you could lose your job over dating a colleague, depending on where you work!

Work crushes are still crushes. Don’t hold off just because they are your colleague. Most places don’t find it as something illegal, unless he/she is your subordinate.

Is she your subordinate? If no, you’ve got nothing to loose. You don’t know how she feels unless you ask her. Or indirectly let her know you like her (gestures, smile, glances,etc). See her reaction. If you have a friendly relationship with her - even better.
