Someone tell me I'm not the only one who suddenly thinks about someone after a significant amount of time passes without seeing their face. Because I feel like an insane person who should seek therapy.

You're not insane, this is very natural. It has happened to me quite a lot. I did some reading up and reflecting, perhaps it's due to:

1) Unresolved feelings of longing or regret regarding this person that you suddenly think about.

2) The timing of memory. Please Google for it if you can. Timing and memory are connected; our minds tend to replay painful memories at certain points in time, such as anniversaries, birthdays, etc. For example, if you and your best friend broke up on a certain date, then each year, around this date, you may feel particularly sad or unproductive. This is natural.

Advice: Confide in someone you trust (someone with whom you share a close, two-way relationship with - friend, family member, etc). Either that, or seek therapy. You could Google for counselling or therapy services online. Lastly, if you have a religion, it's a good idea to pray for help and support.
