You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.

Say that after you’ve been in a gulag.

Written on the wall in a cell of a concentration camp (Cologne), by an improsoned Jew.

“I believe it the sun even when it is not shining.

And I believe in love, even where there’s no one there.

And I believe in God, even when he is silent.”

I agree 100% with OP. We have free will. Whether or not you believe it was given to us by God or through the evolution of consciousness.

NO ONE can take away your freedom. No one can take away your beliefs. Your honor, your love.

In a situation such as war, you may lose your life or limbs to those who would try and strip you of your freedom and your will. But they cannot take it from you unless you LET them.

We are but spirit, protected by simple, fragile flesh. Our bodies are weak, and easy to destroy. The heart, the spirit, the soul, is strong. If you let it be.
