If I try to engage with you and you shut me out by talking over me or simply ignoring me, any initiative or enthusiasm of of getting to know you flies straight out of the window. I probably won’t even bother exchanging pleasantries with you, even if we see each other everyday.

Call me rude. Call me a bitch. Call me sensitive. Call me whatever but there’s no reason to put myself in a position to be socially rejected again.
