Why do we promote monogamous relationships if we have the innate desire to fuck other people.

I’m not shitting on monogamy btw, I’m just curious.

And before anyone says “eYE cANdY!!1!”

Admiring hot people is much different than admiring a painting or sun set.

My genitals don’t throb from looking at a beautiful sun set.

I don’t know. Sex and love aren’t the same thing. I do know, that for some of us, they’re more connected than others. I can’t imagine wanting to fuck someone I have no emotional bond with.

Monogamy is also a self sustaining ecosystem whereby it at least looks like both the man and the woman win, a trade, a semblance of equality. Better than the times when men having as many wives as they could ‘keep’, I guess. And better for the men than the times of the Matriarchy when men did all the physical labour but women ruled, and slept with whomever they liked.

I recently realised I can only have sex with people I don't have feelings for if I'm drunk or high. I used to think it was just anxiety, but I think I'm demisexual.

So your own experience is not everyone else's. There's nothing innate about it.
